The United States is more dangerous than Somalia!

Data shows more people in total die young in the United States than the impoverished pirate/terrorist have of Somalia!

You know your article sucks when you realize College of the Holy Cross is actually MUCH worse in terms of sexual offense after you do the correct math. And then you put up a big bar chart that makes it look like Fordham is a MUCH worse place.

Just raw math- because there are many ways to do better, more accurate statistics (such as taking into account actual gender percentages in school population):
1 out of 361 students in Fordham deal with Sex Offense
1 out of 209 students in College of the Holy Cross deal with Sex Offense

I know, I know, that’s alot of work. Took me an entire 2 minutes on my phone’s calculator.

But oooooo! Look! A big bar chart that makes it appear as if Fordham is the worst college to go to if you want to avoid sexual assault!

But hey, I guess that makes for a more exciting article title as opposed to:

“Fordham actually in the middle of Jesuit Schools in On-Campus Sex Offense Claims”

Your title is more scary, and gets more attention at the price of being more informative.

Congratulations kid, you’re certaintly made to work in the world of modern journalism! Hope for the future is bright indeed!
