Fordham is singular among large Jesuit universities in not having an Alumni Association for its undergraduate colleges. Don’t blame us alumni and alumnae if you can’t reach into well-placed alums. Time is not your friend in this regard.

Editorial Board,

There are a lot of valuable networking resources not considered by this article. Take the alumni panel for seniors hosted just this week (forever.fordham.edu/realtalk16) the University’s mentoring program (fordham.edu/mentor) and also, the value of the Forever Fordham alumni directory cannot be understated. This resource is available to seniors, is user-friendly, and instructional tutorials will be available soon from Career Services. Realize, too, that the events listing is constantly updated, and doesn’t show events hosted earlier in the semester — so be on the lookout!

The Fordham network is indeed strong and we agree that there are always ways to better foster connection between this network and Fordham’s students, yet, the Fordham alumni network is what you make of it!

Feel free to reach out to Career Services and Alumni Relations with questions about how to do so, or any other general advice about alumni networking.

I think you are giving Fordham more credit than what their degree is really worth, especially for liberal arts graduates. New York is a very competitive place !
