Volkert Resigns as Head Volleyball Coach

Peter Volkert, Fordham’s head volleyball coach, has resigned from the position effective immediately. The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by Dave Roach, the University’s athletic director.

The volleyball team finished with a 14-19 record this season, and a 6-8 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference, according to the Fordham Athletics website.

“We really appreciate the time and dedication Peter Volkert made to the Fordham University student-athletes and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Roach said during his announcement of the resignation.

Volkert’s career record as a collegiate head coach: 363-303. He was at Fordham for nine years.

A search for the next head volleyball coach will begin immediately, according to Fordham Athletics.
