All student tickets for the Feb. 16 matchup of the Fordham Rams and Butler Bulldogs will be distributed on the day of the game, The Ram has learned. Tickets will be distributed beginning at 2:30 p.m., in the Lombardi Center. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. Preliminary plans had Fordham head coach Tom Pecora addressing the crowd 30 to 40 minutes before the start of the game. The full details are expected to be released by Fordham Athletics on Monday.

Fordham Athletics announced last week that all non-student tickets had already been sold. Butler is playing its first season in the Atlantic 10 and will be making its first trip to the Rose Hill Gym. The Rams and Bulldogs met once before in the 1959 NIT.

Butler’s reputation as one of the nation’s best teams made tickets for the Fordham matchup a hot commodity. The Bulldogs made Final Four appearances in 2010 and 2011. Butler was ranked 14th in the Feb. 4 edition of both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches’ Poll. Should the Bulldogs win tomorrow against George Washington, they could be ranked even higher when they face Fordham.

For most games, students do not to obtain tickets beforehand and may enter the Rose Hill Gym simply by displaying their student ID. The last time high demand necessitated that tickets be distributed to students was in 2010, when Fordham hosted St. John’s. For that game, students picked up their tickets in the Gym during the week preceding the game.
