This week, Kimberly Russell resigned from her position as assistant dean and director of Residential Life at Rose Hill. Russell has served this position for over seven years and has declined to comment on her resignation.
Christopher Rodgers, dean of students, said that Russell resigned from her position after many years of dedicated service to university students and the community.
“The outstanding professionals in the office and I will be working together between now and the holidays to ensure that service and support for students, community and mission continue,” he wrote.
In a similarly worded email to Resident Assistant staff, the Resident Directors addressed Russell’s resignation.
“Dean Rogers will work closely with the professional staff in our Conduct, Leadership, Housing Operations, and Prevention and Support areas to continue our Office’s high levels of response and service for students and the community,” they wrote.
According to Rodgers, Alex Fischer, Associate Director of Residential Life for Student Conduct, has agreed to serve as Interim Director of Residential Life at Rose Hill.
“Many of you know Alex, having worked with him over the last few years in his current role overseeing student conduct and during his prior four years serving as Resident Director of Loyola Hall Residential College and of Alumni Court South,” he said. “I am very grateful that he will assist in leading the office into the new year.”
A timeline is not confirmed for when the university will appoint a permanent dean. Fischer will assume all responsibilities in the interim.
