Explore the ancient burial practices of Peru and Egypt through this popular exhibit that displays and explains the process behind the creation of the rarely-shown mummies. The exhibit requires a separate ticket to the general admission one and is open till January 2018.

2.  Georgia O’Keefe: Living Modern at the Brooklyn Museum

The new exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum takes the focus off the infamous floral paintings and onto the renowned woman who created them. O’Keefe used her wardrobe, which is the core of the exhibit, to show the world her artistic identity. Tickets are required.

3. Why There Are Words April Reading April 2 at the Bowery Poetry Club

The Bay Area literary reading series is featuring a reading by acclaimed authors like Christopher Bram and Jennifer Franklin. Doors open at 5:45 pm and readings begin at 6:00 pm; tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance.

4. Macy’s Flower Show in Herald Square

The theme of this year’s annual and groundbreaking spring show at the iconic department store is “Carnival,” so it is a must-see this season. Plus it’s a free way to get in the spirit, even when the weather will not cooperate. Be sure to go before April 9!
