Campus Activities Board (CAB) has announced Saturday Night Live’s own Colin Jost as this year’s comedian performing at Spring weekend 2017.

The Staten Island native will be occupying the Leonard Theatre at Fordham Preparatory School at 6 p.m. on April 30.

Jost is recognized for his work both as a writer and cast member of Saturday Night Live. Specifically, Jost is known for anchoring SNL’s “Weekend Update” alongside cast member Michael Che.

CAB Comedy Committee members Megan McWaters, FCRH ’17 and Kathryn Teaney, GSB ’19, unveiled this year’s comedian in video update not unlike Jost’s own “Weekend Update” segment.

The “Weekend Update” was created by SNL original cast member Chevy Chase and parodies real news broadcast by adding satiric and comedic twists to real headlines. Jost and Che portray the most current “Weekend Update” news anchors who host the occasional guest celebrity or SNL cast member.

This is the second consecutive year CAB landed a SNL comedian to be the comedic performance for Spring Weekend.

Last year, SNL cast member Aidy Bryant took the stage as Fordham’s 2016 spring weekend comedian.

Colin Jost will perform at Fordham during the tail end of Spring Weekend on Sunday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
