Visiting Las Vegas, even for a weekend, can be extremely expensive. A trip to Las Vegas may be a one off for many people but for those who want to play casino games in a fantastic environment, there are other options available in the United States. Read on as we bring you 10 Las Vegas alternatives for budget conscious players.

Lake Tahoe

We begin with Lake Tahoe and this is one of the best alpine lake resorts in the United States. In fact, Lake Tahoe is the biggest alpine lake in North America and is located not far from Reno, in the Sierra Nevadas. Not only do you have the stunning landscape to explore but there are several casinos available in Lake Tahoe, including Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and Crystal Bay Casino.

Atlantic City

If you want to enjoy the perfect combination of beaches and casinos, it is hard to beat Atlantic City as an alternative to Las Vegas for budget conscious players. The Atlantic City boardwalk rivals the Las Vegas strip and you will find many resorts and casinos as you stroll along the coast. Resorts Casino Hotel, Borgata Hotel Casino, and Hard Rock Casino are some of the venues on offer in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City has long set the standards in the online casino industry. You don’t have to head to the casino floor to play, you can play all across the state. Operators are always looking for cool new ways to attract players, from games, to experiences, to banking, with many online casinos now accept bank transfers, as well as traditional card payments.

Palm Springs

There is a bit of everything for visitors in Palm Springs, including a great climate thanks to the location in the Sonoran Desert of Southern California. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is a good example of what to expect when gambling in Palm Springs and other activities include golf, hiking, and clubbing.

Niagara Falls

There is clearly one major attraction at Niagara Falls and that is the impressive waterfall but when you are done with the water, there are plenty of other things to do in the area. Casino Niagara and Falls View Casino Resort are the best places for those who want a flutter plus there are several dining options and amusement parks for all the family.

Reno

If you want to stay in Nevada but cannot afford to stay and gamble in Las Vegas, Reno is the best alternative. For those who know Fremont Street in Las Vegas, North Virginia Street in Reno is similar and you will find Circus Circus Reno, Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, and Nugget Casino Resort among the gambling options. There are also plenty of top class museums to visit in Reno.

Reno

New Orleans

If the combination of casino gambling and live music is the dream vacation for you, look no further than New Orleans. The live musical performances are some of the best anywhere in the United States, especially for jazz lovers. Carnival Club and Harrah’s are just two of the casinos in New Orleans and the city is a great alternative to Las Vegas for those on a budget.

San Diego

When it comes to outdoor activities and food, there is something special about San Diego, in California. The Gaslamp Quarter is one of the highlights of the city and you will find plenty of bars, restaurants, and clubs all within a walkable distance. The Seven Mile Casino, Lucky Lady Casino, and Casino Nights are all options for real money gaming.

Thackerville

Truth be told, there is not a great deal to see or do in Thackerville, which is in Oklahoma. However, for those who want to play casino games but enjoy a cheaper weekend than Las Vegas, Thackerville is home to the largest single casino in the world. The WinStar World Casino and Resort is bigger than anything you will find in Las Vegas and you will spend so much time in the enormous complex, you will not need anything else to do.

Montreal

We are moving outside of the United States for our next alternative to Las Vegas for budget conscious players but Montreal is within driving distance for many Americans. With a drinking age of 18, Montreal regularly receives visits from south of the border and the Montreal Casino is the biggest in Canada. Magic Palace Montreal is another casino worth visiting in the Canadian city.

Montreal

Biloxi

Located in the state of Mississippi, Biloxi is a great place to visit in the summer for beaches and gambling. The Beau Rivage Resort and Casino has received rave reviews for the interior design of the building and other gambling options in Biloxi include the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino plus the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort.
