Safety Tips for Using Amber Teething Necklaces
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Reddit

Amber necklaces could be the solace for your baby’s teething issue , especially if they have been waking up every night in the middle of a deep sleep with a cranky mood.

Sleepless nights cannot be good for your baby; neither is it for the parents. Therefore, we all need an aid that can decrease the teething inflammation and help the child sleep in peace.

Although there is contemporary medicine, many parents do not wish to rely on artificial medicine for every little inconvenience. It can also cause dependency on medicine for the child. Rather, going for a natural route would be better.

Baltic amber bead necklaces are made with the resin fossil of amber trees. They have a certain anti-inflammatory agent called succinic acid. With contact with the body, these succinic acid seeps directly inside the skin, reducing inflammation. A natural remedy for teething babies.

Safety Tips For Amber Teething Necklace

Safety Tips for Using Amber Teething Necklaces

1. Choose The Right Amber Teething Bracelet: Do not go on about buying an amber bead teething necklace without checking the authenticity. The vendor should be able to provide an authentic baltic amber certification. Or, else, you can simply burn one bead to see whether it exudes an amber burnt oak scent.

2. Do Not Leave Your Child Alone: The baby doesn’t need the amber-beaded necklace around them at all times. However, whenever it is in touch with their body, it is better to supervise them. Especially if it is too close to their mouth, it could be a choking hazard. Especially when the child is teething, and the discomfort is making them put anything in their mouth.

3. Select A Safe Length: If you are choosing an amber bead necklace, do not make it too long or too short. Too long can become a choking hazard as it is possible for the baby to put the beads in their mouth. The perfect length would be something that has less choking hazard and strangulation hazard (when the length is too tight around the neck).

4. Check The Texture: Too many rough edges around the bead can cause irritation and redness to the skin. Especially if your baby has a tendency to move too much, and the constant scraping against the skin can cause cuts. Ensure the texture of the bead is smooth.

5. Secure Clasping: Do not go for a magnetic clasp, as there is no worse swallowing hazard for a baby than magnets. Go for a secure clasp or something that allows you to tie the necklace or bracelet, as it is the safest.

6. Individually Knotted Bead: If you are going for a threatened necklace rather than a metal chain, then go for individually knotted beads. In case the thread breaks, you won’t be losing all the beads altogether.

7. Check The Beads Regularly: If your baby has been wearing these beads for more than a month, it is time to inspect them for any wear and tear. Frequent wear can cause tearing to the necklace, making it not so functional and hazardous after a while. This means that the anti-inflammatory properties aren’t working properly and other risks may occur.

8. Prevent Tugging: Do not make your baby’s amber beading necklaces with an elastic material. These can increase the chance of tugging, leading to injury around the neck due to excessive tugging or even suffocation through strangulation.

9. Keep Dry: The amber beads can go bad when exposed to too much moisture. That is why it is better to check the beads for any moisture retention after each day’s use.

10. Cleaning It Regularly: Although amber is not known for retaining bacteria, it could still be dirty from them crawling and playing around. You wouldn’t want something attached to them to be even covered in dirt. Take a soft cloth and soak it in lukewarm water. Then, dab it around the beads to clean it properly.

11. It Is Either Natural Or Noble: Even if your little one is not allergic to metal, do not take the risk of making their teething necklace/bracelet with a normal metal. It is either an organic thread or a noble metal like gold or silver.

What More!

Remember, scientific evidence for amber necklace benefits is limited, and safety concerns are significant. Always prioritize your baby’s safety and consult a healthcare professional before using any teething remedy.

Comfortable Fit: Ensure the necklace isn’t too tight, allowing a finger to fit underneath.

Store Safely: Keep it out of reach when not in use.

Monitor Skin: Check your baby’s skin for any irritation or reaction to the necklace.

Limited Usage: Do not use it too often. Only use the necklace when it is absolutely necessary, and you want your child to have a goodnight’s sleep.

Credible Vendor: Check for vendors and always go for a safe online amber bead vendor when it comes to the safety of your baby.
