At some point most students deal with exam stress. It’s tough. You’ve been studying for months, or even years, you’ve been revising hard for the last few weeks, and now the exams are here and for the most part there’s not much that you can do. You aren’t going to suddenly gain lots of new knowledge. You just have to trust that you know as much as you can. This means that often the best thing that you can do is find ways to calm down and deal with stress, to give yourself the best chance of performing well on the day. Here are some great ways that students can deal with exam stress.\

Exercise

Exercise is a fantastic way to burn off stress and clear your head. Pushing your body can help you to focus on something else, and even gentle exercise like a yoga routine can help you to clear your mind while moving your body.

While you are studying and taking exams, try to schedule in workouts, even if it’s just a walk or a short jog, to give you some time for yourself. This will reduce stress, and boost energy levels and confidence.

Take a Social Media Break

Social media can be a great tool. But it’s not always good for our mental health. Social media can cause us to worry about the content that we are seeing. It can create feelings of jealously. When you are already under pressure, being on social media can make things worse and affect your mood. So, take a break until after your exams. You might want to delete the apps from your smartphone or even lock your accounts.

Be Prepared

One of the best things that you can do to deal with exam stress is prepare. Make sure you’ve revised everything you need to, creating revision plans and diaries to ensure you’ve got the time to cover everything. Get everything that you need for the exams packed and ready and make sure you know where you need to be and when. Just knowing that you’ve done everything that you can is a great way to combat stress.

Go Out for Dinner

Eating well helps you to relax, boosts your brain power and helps to keep you energized and healthy throughout exam period. But it’s also one more thing to think about. Preparing meals is a great idea and taking yourself out for dinner is a great way to treat yourself when things are feeling a bit too much.

Play Games

Games are a fantastic way to take your mind off your exams. Console games can give you something to think about and are often great escapism. Simple mobile games can provide easy distraction, which can help you to clear your mind while you aren’t having to think. Even online casino games, and especially those with 200 free spins with real money, can be wonderful ways to unwind and leave stress behind.

Get Some Sleep

Sleep is crucial when we’re stressed out. Eating well, exercising, and staying away from screens and devices before bed will help you to sleep. You might even want to stick to a bedtime and a getting up time, to make it easier.

Spend Time with Positive People

When you are stressed out the last thing that you want to do is spend time with people who make you worry, bring you down, or make you feel bad about yourself. Instead, spend any free time that you have with positive people who lift you up, boost your confidence and believe in you.

Exams aren’t nice. Very few people enjoy them. But it’s often the stress and worry that get us down more than the exams themselves. Find ways to cope with the stress, and you are bound to perform better and remember more when you sit down to take the exam.
